But they both love costume jewelry, doll houses, Barbies and Littlest Pet Shop toys.
Both girls could use waterproof gloves or mittens, so they can go outside to play without freezing, their mother said.
"They have snowsuits, they have winter boots," she said.
"Terry" is studying legal practice at a local college, specializing in family law.
"I'd like to get my degree and be a consultant for families who don't know what their parental rights are," she said.
The girls' father is not paying support, and they are in a custody battle, she said.

"I've been living on my student grants and loans to pay my bills and rent, and the holidays are looking pretty difficult," she said.
Although she qualifies for subsidized rent, Terry said, "what I pay for rent might as well be a million sometimes."
That's why she turned to the Union Leader Santa Fund for the Salvation Army for help this year.
"They need warm clothes," Terry said of her children. "I just bought them a package of socks, but they seem to disappear. They want slippers. They love footie pajamas, Hello Kitty stuff," she said. "They're girls."
"My oldest is the girlie girl; she likes to wear dresses, she likes her nails painted and she loves it when her hair is done," Terry said. "Her sister is a tomboy; I have to bribe her to get into a dress. She's just like her mother; I was exactly like that when I was a kid.
"My youngest is huge into puzzles; my oldest is learning how to read," she said. "We're reading Harry Potter right now for bedtime."
