Loudoun Times-Mirror
2012 Future Leaders Scholarship Award
Greetings Class of 2012,
Each year the Loudoun Times-Mirror honors a selection of the talented, hard-working and dedicated high school seniors. Fifteen winners will be selected with one student being highlighted as the top honoree. Each student selected will be rewarded through the Loudoun Times-Mirror Scholarship Fund. Winners will also be profiled in a special publication published by the Times-Mirror in March 2012. A pdf copy of last year's Future Leaders publication is available for review at loudountimes.com under the e-edition section.
Future leader nominees must be a senior enrolled in Loudoun County Public Schools or private schools operating in Loudoun County. Home schooled seniors who are Loudoun residents are also eligible. Typically, future leaders must possess exceptional talent in any field – academics, the arts, private enterprise or civic outreach. Nominees will be evaluated by a committee consisting of Times-Mirror staff members and community leaders.
Students may nominate themselves, but a complete application package must include two letters of recommendation. These recommendations can include teachers, administrators or guidance counselors.
The nomination deadline for the Future Leaders program is Jan. 3, 2012.
This program is extremely important to the Times-Mirror and although competition has been very high in past years, we take great pride in helping to recognize Loudoun's extraordinary Future Leaders.
Best Wishes,
John L. Geddie
Editor, Loudoun Times-Mirror
